Located at Procuratie Nuove, in Pazza San Marco, it is home to one of the most important collections of Greek sculptures, ceramics, bronzes and gems and coins. The historical nucleus of the museum is represented by the Public Statuary of the Serenissima deriving from a legacy of the Grimani family. Over the centuries the Statuary was enriched with other donations and, in the early twentieth century, was transferred from the Antisala of the Libreria Marciana in its current location.
